It’s been 9 weeks since we suspended our on-campus services and activities as a church family. I looked back at my calendar today, and it was March 12, 2020, when I wrote a letter to you that detailed the ways we would respond to the spread of COVID-19. The impact of the virus was greater and more rapid than we anticipated that week. But, your response as a church has been nothing short of incredible. I want to say thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord during the last 9 weeks. In addition, I am grateful for the way that you have supported and encouraged myself and the rest of our staff.
Harrisburg's Phased Re-Entry
How we plan to reopen.
When will in-person worship services & gatherings resume?
As soon as possible. Our phases are designed to align with the government phases outlined by the White House. Everything is dependent upon what the State of MS, the city of Tupelo, and the health of our local community. The size of our church requires us to be more cautious as we re-open. As a result, we will likely open later than other business and churches.
We have continued our suspension of all on-campus activities through June 7, 2020. We will re-evaluate our phases at the end of May and make an announcement by June 1, 2020, about the next few weeks after that.
Will regular activities look different?
While we look forward to the day that our gatherings feel the same, at first we will see and feel the impact of the virus when we meet and worship. We will modify as much as we can to mitigate the spread of the virus and keep our facilities clean and safe.
Even if you see more face masks, gloves, and a ton of hand-sanitizer we hope it will still feel like coming home when you walk back in the doors of our facility.
What about our regular yearly events?
As long as our on-campus gatherings are closed, yearly events like Vacation Bible School and Camps will also remain suspended. If possible, we will provide reimagined options online or at a later date.
What can we do right now?
We are not able to gather together right now, but there are many ways we can grow and serve together. Check out our Connect page for ways you can grow, and check out our social media for ways you can serve those around and support the continued mission of the church around the world.
