Love God. Love People. Make Disciples

Waypoint Student Ministry

The student ministry of Harrisburg exists to disciple teenagers and assist parents in the same. We use three Biblical themes to anchor our discipleship strategy: Love God, Love People, and Impact Your World. Every year, we focus on one of these themes from August to July and the theme for 2019 - 2020 is Impact Your World

The focus of Love People centers on developing a Christ-centered, faith-oriented community. A healthy Christian community acknowledges the uniqueness of individuals, their skills, their talents, and their calling as it brings them together under the Jesus' banner for a singular purpose.

Love People empowers students to live in the fullness of the gospel as they claim responsibility in the family of God and discover God's vision and passion for their lives.

John 13:34-35

"I give you a new command: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Why Waypoint?

The Why always creates a pause in my thought process because I want to be clear, concise, and correct. We tend to focus on the what and how and even the when or who, when the why is so critical.

So Why do we do what we do? We love God and we want others to know His love.

We are gifted to lead and communicate truth to the newest generation of leaders - our teens, so we do. We do what we do with the expectation teens and their families grow in wisdom and truth to fulfill their role on earth as the creators representatives. Jesus Christ makes all this and more possible - Why? Because he loves us.

Our camps, retreats, disciple now's; Sunday school, Midweek, Grow Groups; conversations, text, all grow out of the why.
