A Word From IMB Summer Missionary, Katelyn McCoy
What in the world is God doing through Harrisburg? That is a good question with even better answers. Below please find and read and pray over the blog post we have included here regarding the work being done in West London amount university students. We have sent Katelyn McCoy to work alongside IMB missionaries (the Belmores) and we asked her for a update of what she and God have been up to.
Jesus says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). This has been the anthem of this time. Both as the proclamation of the gift of life from death through Christ for me and as a believer the joy that I get to share this abundant life alongside other believers BUT also invite others into that abundant life through the opportunity to share the gift of Christ that they can receive.
The last few weeks have been anything than what I expected. Of course, I can say without a doubt in a good way. Walking into the first few weeks, we were immersed deeply in the ministry that was actively being cultivated through the obedience of the missionaries and believers already on the field in London.
We were not just there observing the way the team does university ministry but were
immediately invited to come alongside them. It was both encouraging and stretching, but I would not have wanted it any other way. Through it I remain continually reminded of my need for the Lord and that his power is made oh so perfect in my weakness and what a privilege it is to be pruned and refined by the Lord.
Ministry itself looks differently week to week; however, it is consistently being present and
involved at university campuses across the London area. As interns, much of our time is spent in small groups (2-3 people) spread out interacting/gaining information on other campuses that the career team here is seeking to start ministry. We do consistently serve and do life alongside many students of Brunel University where there is currently an active Christian Campus ministry where the gospel is being taught and discussed weekly alongside believers and unbelievers.
The Lord is so evidently at work here in London. It has been a privilege to serve and learn
alongside the Belmores, Jay, Lauren, Riley, and the local believers here. SOOOO much more to come!

Praises:
- I get to be a part of the sweetest community that is here! Being on the field in a
community but deep relationships through here already.
- The team dynamics of everyone on the team is has been going very well.
- This past Sunday, one of the Brunel students was baptized! Praising the Lord for His
Prayers:
- The girls (7 total girls) have a long travel to and for the city (about 3hr roundtrip
transportation.
- One of my teammates who I am around has opened up about her desire to know
to be in the word and for her willingness to ask me questions. As well as for wisdom as I
walk alongside her here. We were able to get her a study bible! Sometimes the Lord
works in the places you least expect it this has been one! But a sweet one!
- For the universities us interns are seeking to engage with in London. Universities
very difficult. (think kind of like a public high school where you can get on campus but
very limited places to be.) Prayers for holy interruptions on these campuses, people to
be welcome to us asking questions, and for the Lord to cultivate His kingdom amongst
the students who attend.
- The local believers and specifically the younger generations. As I have talked with
themes is how very difficult it is here (as it is everywhere) BUT I want to ask you to
specifically, pray for those believers here. A lot of people come in and out of London
which hinders deep relationships but also provides a great opportunity to see the gospel
spread as people scatter from here.
- Softened hearts and curious minds that are ready and willing to listen and ask
has done and how he can change their life forever.
- Specifically for mercy for the Lord to first and foremost guard my heart and mind and
harder ones here in London.
Not just names BUT specific People (some believers and non-believers) I encourage you to be in prayer for:
- Nashant
- Paige
- Lois
- Ellie
- Qazal
